Career Competencies

Career readiness is the attainment and demonstration of requisite competencies that broadly prepare college graduates for a successful transition into the workplace. (NACE: National Association of Colleges and Employers)

CDEC's goal is to not only encourage student engagement, but to also support students in closing the gap between their academic endeavors and their entrance into career. When students are asked to reflect meaningfully on their experiences, and think critically about the work they are doing, they are more likely to transition smoothly from one to the other. CDEC values the relationships that students and faculty develop and want to leverage this relationship by creating a common vocabulary when talking about student success as it relates to career readiness.

Please choose below the career competencies that the student will learn/improve upon if selected for approval.
